I can appreciate this comment!
Especially now that I have a collection of single malts that haven't even been stored near a 7-Up, though they have seen an ice cube threaten to come near them; especially for the younger whipper-snapper bottles like a 10-yr Talisker I had once that was just too sharp and "sting-y" without the ice.
My goal with this piece was to get people who don't like Scotch now to retry it and work their way into it. I would never suggest to someone who likes the flavors or Scotch to dilute the "Aqua Vitae" of the Scots!
As to the "E" comment. What can I say? I was wrong. Shep is 100% correct. There is no "e" in Whisky for Scotches. Us poor American schlubs wouldn't know that or have our spell checkers correct it.

Thanks for the feedback!

Notes from a Scotsman :

Scotch Whisky has no 'E' in it. Only the Americans and Irish mis-spell the word this way.

"The key to unlocking the secrets of Scotch: 7-up and ice" - you lost us all after that comment.
